Overseas Power Generation Projects (Equity Participation, O&M)
By exporting power plant construction and operation technologies to foreign countries, KOEN seeks to generate a new source of revenue growth,
in addition to promoting joint advance of domestic partner companies to overseas markets (equipment production, construction service, etc.).
Distributed Solar PV power plant plant project in Chile and hydropower plant project in Nepal and Pakistan are underway, as well as
a PV power plnat project in Bulgaria. KOEN is also expanding business areas to countries with high growth potentials for the diversification of revenue structure.
- Effects : Growth into a global power company by diversifying overseas project areas;
development of future revenue stream by engaging in high-value-added IPP and O&M projects
Bulgaria Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation (In Operation)
This is the first renewable energy project in Eastern Europe conducted by a Korean company. At the time of completion, this mega-project had
a facility size that was second largest in Eastern Europe and fifteenth largest in the world. A photovoltaic power generation complex with
a capacity of 42MW was constructed through this BOO (buildown-operate) project in which KOEN has the rights to operate for 20 years.
A 21MW-class PV power plant was each built in Zlatitsa (near Veliko Tarnovo, an old capital of the Bulgarian Kingdom) and Samovodene,
200km east of the capital city of Sofia. The power plants were completed in 2011 and 2012, respectively, before the operation began.
KOEN’s project management and operation experiences, as well as technologies from smaller Korean PV companies, were harnessed in this
project, which was praised as an exemplary case in which a public corporation and SMEs achieved mutual growth, and helped Korean companies
expand into overseas renewable energy market.

Chile Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation (In Operation)
This project involves 7 small distribued PV power plants (PMGD) near Chile’s capital city of Santiago, as well as 3 PV power plants near Calama, Antofagasta.
It is a large renewable energy PV and operation project with a capacity of 48.6MW. The use of PV modules by Korean companies will contribute greatly to the growth
of the Korean industry, expansion of exports, creation of quality jobs, and mutual growth of various Korean companies. In particular, the project can be registered
in CDM to procure carbon emissions rights, which will play an important role in satisfying KOEN’s carbon emissions reduction requirements.

This project involves construction and operation of a 216MW-class hydropower plant in Trishuli River, 70km away from Katmandu,
the capital of Nepal. It is the first Southwest Asian power generation project by KOEN, and is meaningful in that it establishes
a gateway to the region. It is also significant in that it is the first project in which the International Finance Corporation (IFC)
works with a Korean company in a developing nation.

Overseas TSA
Based on experience building 24 large-capacity power facilities(800MW, etc) and operating various facilities, KOEN is operating TSA projects in the overseas.
- Key commissioning Tasks : On-site OJT and facility diagnosis support / facility enhancement proposals / participation in commissioning
process meetings and schedule review / training for local operators.
- Effects : Generation of new revenue stream by exporting technologies / establishment of overseas project network by successful operation of
power generation commissioning improvement of corporate brand image.

Overseas Resource Development
To respond to spikes in bituminous coal prices and fluctuating supply of the resource, and secure a reliable and long-term source
of bituminous coal, KOEN is developing overseas resource projects, successfully participating in coal development in Adaro Mine (Indonesia)
and Moolarben Mine (Australia) to secure priority purchasing rights for 6.62 million tons of bituminous coal annually.
- Effects : Ensuring reliable supply of power generation fuel and generation of investment profits from sales fees and dividends-KOEN continues
to make efforts to develop overseas power generation and resource procurement projects by producing packages connecting investment and ownership
of mines with power generation activities.
